Order Status

Where is my order?
To check your order status, login to our Help Desk and select the site you ordered from. Then use your order number and other details to get the latest information about the order status.

You may also click here to login to your A1Books account and look up the status of all your past and present orders with A1Books. Please use the login and password that was provided to you in your order confirmation. If you have forgotten your password, please enter your email address here and we will resend your password.

Shipping

How long does it take for my order to be shipped?
Sellers on A1Books Marketplace will specify the time they would require to process and ship an item. The "Will ship in" field next to the listing for each item will specify the processing time of the order. Please note that this is not the actual delivery time. You will also receive information about the order processing time in your confirmation email from A1Books when you buy from us. We will also notify you when the order processing is complete and the order is shipped.

Can A1Books or sellers on the website ship to non-US locations?
Some marketplace sellers also ship internationally. For international purchases, please look for the 'Will Ship To : US & Other Countries' note next to the seller while on the item detail page. All sellers will ship the items within the specified time. Usually, electronics are not shipped to non-US locations due to trade restrictions.

What method is used to ship my order to me?
All items for orders within the US will be shipped using standard shipping methods. This helps us keep your shipping charges low. Unfortunately, we do not offer expedited shipping at this time.

How long does it take for my order to be delivered to me?
The total time between your order being placed and it being delivered to you can be divided as follows :

Total Time = Processing Time + Delivery Time

Standard order processing time ranges from a few hours to 3 business days. Standard Delivery time is 4-14 days for delivery within the United States and 14-21 days to other international locations.

What are the shipping methods and their rates used to ship my order?
The method/carrier and the price for the shipment depend on the item shipped as well as the final destination. Please refer to the below table for the specific shipping details for an item :

Upon processing your order we will send you an order confirmation. Your order will be shipped within the specified time on the listing for the item in your order confirmation. If we cannot ship your order within the specified time, we will notify you in writing, via email, of the reason for, and duration of, the expected delay and provide you with an option to either wait for the delivery of the order or cancel your order and receive a full refund. If you have not received your order within a reasonable time (look above for the amount of time it takes to deliver your shipment depending on the mode of shipment), please contact us through our Help Desk.

Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses? A1Books, as a seller, proudly ships books and most other media to APO/FPO addresses. However, at this time, we do not ship consumer electronics to APO/FPO addresses. For shipping policies of marketplaces sellers on a1books.com, please refer to their individual seller profiles.


Does A1Books offer discounts on the items sold?
Most items listed on our website from different sellers are discounted off their list price as seen on the item detail page. Some reference books and short discounted books have a small or no discount. In addition to the regular discounts, we may also run offers from time to time where we offer our customer extra saving on eligible purchases. Please refer to the promotions listed on our main page for more details. We are confident that you will find the combination of our prices, special offers and prompt service, the best value for your money.


What is available for sale by A1Books?
Most of the items supplied by all major Publishers,Wholesalers and Distributors should be AVAILABLE on our website. We list over 3.5 million items ranging from books and electronics to other media. A small number of items may become unavailable due to the item going out of production , delay in release of the item, unexpectedly high demand, etc. Our stock of items is subject to this availability and price. Our data is not live and is not updated for 24 hours, as a result of which the item may still show for sale for a short period of time. In the case of such items, please allow 24-48 hours to be notified if stock is out.

How can I pay for my purchase on a1books.com?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards. We also accept payments through Paypal and Google Checkout.

We currently DO NOT accept international wire transfers or Smart Cards, orders by checks and money orders. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Unless otherwise noted, all prices are stated in US dollars and payment is required in US dollars.

How safe is it to submit my credit card information on a1books.com?
Submitting your credit card and personal information on this Site is completely safe. Any information you enter on our accounts setup page is encrypted before transmission to our server. You can safely enter your credit card and personal registration information and it cannot be read in transit to our server. This encryption is certified by Verisign. This site is tested and certified daily to pass the 'McAfee Secure' Security Scan. Please note that no a1books employee will ever send you an email asking you for your credit card number.

In the event you are unable to access our secure server please contact our Webmaster at webmaster@a1books.com. If you get an error message when you try to use the secure server, it may be because you've run into a firewall. Ask your system administrator to reconfigure it. (You can say that the port for Secure HTTP, 443, needs to be opened up.)

For all orders not placed on a1books.com, all aspects of the financial transaction are between you and the Marketplace where your account is held.


Cancellations

Can I cancel my order?
We can cancel orders only before it has been processed. Order processing may be as quick as a few hours for certain items and up to 3 business days for others, depending on the item ordered as well as the time and the site the order was placed on. Why did A1Books cancel my order?
On rare occassions, the item you placed an order for may suddenly become unavailable due to the item going out of production , delay in release of the item, unexpectedly high demand, etc. Our stock of items is subject to this availability and price.

What amount of the order is refunded when an order is cancelled?
In cases where an item on an order is cancelled by A1Books, you will be refunded the entire amount charged for that item. Please note that cancellations are not the same as returns. In the case of refunds for returned items, please refer to our return policy.


Return Policies

What is your return policy ?

This return policy is applicable for customers buying products from A1Books as a seller on A1Books.com, Abebooks.com, Alibris.com, Amazon.com, Buy.com, Half.com, eBay.com and any other Marketplace we participate in. For returns of items purchased from other marketplace sellers on a1books.com, please refer to the 'A1Books.com Marketplace Returns' section. For the fastest and easiest return process, we encourage our customers to use our RMA ( Return Merchandise Authorization ) system. Product returns without an RMA slip and matching all applicable criteria listed below, may take over 3 weeks to process.

RETURN POLICIES FOR BOOKS AND OTHER-NON ELECTRONIC ITEMS

You may return books and other non-electronic items within 30 days of the maximum estimated delivery date after the order is shipped by us for US orders and 45 days for non-US orders. Refunds for returns depend on the situations outlined below. Please see section about making returns at the end of this page.

For returns of purchases that are not damaged, not defective or are correctly shipped, and the return is made as a result of the buyer changing their mind, only the item price, after deducting a 10% restocking fee, will be refunded. The shipping costs (shipping to the buyer and return shipping charges) will not be refunded.

In cases where the item is returned to A1Books for any of the following reasons : incomplete/incorrect address, unclaimed, returned to sender, or similar, the refund amount includes only the item price. Shipping charges will not be refunded in these cases. We request that you ensure your shipping address is accurate when placing your order.

The buyer is eligible for a full refund of the purchase price, including shipping costs, if the ordered item does not arrive 15 days past the maximum estimated delivery date, up until 30 days past the maximum estimated delivery date. If we provide tracking information indicating the item was delivered, the return is void. Please see the shipping section for information about delivery times.

If you receive an item different than what was described in your order, or that is clearly in worse condition than indicated, please indicate this reason in your return in 'Reason for return'. Upon our determination that the product is damaged, defective or the wrong item was shipped, we will issue a full refund as reflected on your original point of sale. Your return shipping fee will be refunded, upto the amount that was originally paid to have the item shipped to you, only if you include a copy of your packing slip with the package.

RETURN POLICIES FOR EBOOKS AND OTHER DIGITAL DOWNLOADS

eBooks CANNOT be returned once purchased. Please make sure you are purchasing the right edition of eBook you require before completing the purchase. If you have problems downloading your eBook, please refer to our eBooks Help section by clicking here

RETURN POLICIES FOR ELECTRONICS

All DVD players, Recorders, Scanners, Cell Phones, Fax Machines, Printers, Receivers, TV's, TV Wall Mounts, TV Furniture and Home Theaters are not returnable after the box is opened. Please direct all inquiries to the manufacturer, whose contact information is within the product packaging. A1Books does not accept any returns on any Apple products. All Apple products are Brand New and come with a US warranty unless otherwise stated. Returns attempted in the above cases will not be processed and we will not bear any associated shipping costs.

1.Electronics returns are permitted only if an RMA is generated within 14 days from the electronic item being shipped to you. Returned merchandise will be accepted by us only if all conditions A, B, C, and D below are met. There is a 10% restocking fee on all merchandise returned. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. We are not responsible for any shipping charges of merchandise being returned to us. Any items that are opened or used are subject to a restocking fee even if they are returned within the 14 day period!

A) All returns must include original factory box, original factory packaging (foam, plastic, wrappings, etc.) blank, unfilled warranty cards, all instruction booklets and paperwork. Do not remove UPCs for rebate purposes. Please do not deface original factory cartons or packaging in any manner. We will not accept a return if packaging is not in its original condition - including any item that comes shrunk wrapped/blister packed etc.

B) All returned merchandise must be in its original condition. Returns on damaged or scratched merchandise will not be accepted.

C) All returns must include all the factory accessories which come with the item. For example, a camcorder must be returned with its original battery, charger, cords, straps, etc. No returns will be accepted if any of these packed accessories are missing.

D) Enclose the original receipt or a copy of it and affix the RMA slip on your return package.

2. The following exclusions apply to rule 1 above: Some video products, if found defective upon your receiving them, cannot be returned for exchange. Rather they must be repaired by a service center of the manufacturer in your area. No Returns, or Exchange for All Compaq products. If Retail Box has been Opened, Customer should Contact Compaq Corporation directly for repairs.

3. Batteries and video tapes which are opened or used will not be accepted for return!

4. Merchandise that a buyer ships back to A1Books as a return and which gets lost or damaged in transit, during its return, is not the responsibility of A1Books. It is the shipper's ( in this case the person returning the item) responsibility to file claims with the carrier upon the discovery of the problem. We highly recommend a trackable shipping carrier for electronics returns

RETURNS FOR ITEMS PURCHASED FROM SELLERS ON THE A1BOOKS.COM MARKETPLACE

a1books.com is a marketplace with several sellers offering great products. For returns of items purchased from marketplace sellers on a1books.com, the return policies specified by that specific seller apply. Please log in to your account and see a list of the items you ordered with the respective sellers. You can then click on the seller name to learn more about their return policies or contact them about your item. All credits, costs and expenses regarding such returns shall be borne by either you or the marketplace seller. In case the seller does not respond to your queries, please contact us via our Help Desk to resolve the matter.

How can I return an order ?
Returning an item is easy with our RMA system. You will need to generate and print an RMA slip to ship the product to us.

Login to your A1Books.com Account or select the site you purchased from at our Help Desk. Once you login or provide your order details you will be able to initiate a return by choosing the 'Return this item' link.

Next you will be asked to provide the reason for return from the drop down menu. You can also add some notes to describe any specific issues you had with the item. Once this is done, you will be able to view the amount that will be refunded to you and then print an RMA slip which you must affix on your return package to us for your return to be processed via RMA. While you may print the RMA at a later point, we urge you to do so immediately and ship the return to us as soon as possible. We highly recommend a trackable shipping carrier for electronics returns.

Since the RMA slip has all the relevant information such as shipping addresses, you do not need to affix any separate label. If for any reason, you are not able to affix the RMA slip on the returned package, YOU MUST include it within the package for the return to be processed. In such a case, you can send the return to:

You will receive an email message indicating that your return has been received in our warehouse. You will also be notified via email when your return process is complete. This process usually takes about 10-14 business days from the day we receive your return.

Alternatively, you may ship the item to return without an RMA, but with the appropriate reason for return and order information to our warehouse. Please be sure to note our policies about return shipment refunds. Returns without an RMA will take atleast 3 weeks to be processed from the day we receive your return.
